[Axel Malfoy]

Axel waited for the common room to clear out before leaving his dormatory and rushing to the chair by the fire place. He didn't like being around all the older students who hung around the common room. Axel liked the piece and quiet of the dorm late at night.

He pulled out his potions book and began to read by the fire when he heard someone enter the common room. Small as he was, Axel made himself smaller in the chair.

"Wh...who's there?" Axel stuttered.

[Noah Malfoy]

Noah slipped into the common room after a quick visit to the Room of Requirement, on a personal level. He watched from the shadows as his brother seemed to quake with fear, and Noah rolled his eyes.

"Calm down, Axel. It's Noah."

Noah always had a problem with his brother, who was almost the opposite of him. The only thing they shared was their looks and their expressions. Axel was shy and small, whereas Noah was tall and dominating. He hoped his brother would learn to be more like a Malfoy, and less like a child.

"Well you shouldn't sneak around like that," Axel said with a huff. Honestly, Axel wished it was anyone besides his brother who walked through the door. He loved his brother, but Axel knew the two were way too dissimilar for either of their own good.

He turned his back to Noah and sunk back in his seat.

Noah rolled his eyes as his brother went back to sinking in his seat, like he didn't matter at all. As much as Noah hated to admit it, he was at least a little fond of his brother. THey were almost twins, if not the age difference and the shyness. If Noah would stop acting like he was a mouse trapped behind a cat, Noah might have actually liked his brother. They could have been friends.

Noah threw his books to the shelf, and levitated to above the stairs. "If you're so afraid of everything, why would you ever be awake in the middle of the night alone? THat's incredibley dangerous."

[Axel Malfoy]

"I'm not afraid of everything," Axel argued with Noah. "I just don't...like the noise, it distracts me, so I wait until it's later and most people are asleep and have left the common room." Axel said. He crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow at his brother. "And it is NOT dangerous down here at night." he contradicted. Why did his brother always have to make him stick up for himself all of the time? Couldn't he pick on someone besides his brother of all people.

[Noah Malfoy]

"You don't have any guts, whatsoever," Noah replied, falling against the couch that was placed across from his brother. "You're too quiet to be a Malfoy. Maybe you're adopted. What if you're really just some muggle born, and Mum and Dad were too ncie to let you rot?"

Noah was chuckling at himself. He was being very stereotypical of a brother. But if Axel ever wanted to actually rise to power, like all Malfoys should, then Noah would force it out of him sooner then later.

Sometimes, Axel hated his brother. "Stop it," he said under his breath. But Noah wouldn't. "Shut up." he said, glaring at his brother.

Noah sighed and rolled his eyes. "Calm down, Ex."

Noah had come up with that nickname quite a while ago, perhaps when Noah had first seen Axel. The second he had come through the door, Noah had been excited for almost two minutes. As soon as Noah had poked him, Axel had started crying. After promptly being rebuked for this little act, Noah had demanded his brother be returned from where he had been taken from.

"Mother and Father would have never taken in a muggle. You shouldn't be so sensitive."

[Axel Malfoy]

"Do you want something?" Axel decided to ask, realizing he was done with his big brother's teasing and tormenting for the night. "Cuz if not, I'm..." he looked around. "Busy, and cant be bothered by jerks like you." He sounded like he was eleven.

Good thing he was eleven.

[Noah Malfoy]

"You're too busy for your big brother?" Noah simpered sarcastically. "Now you've gone and hurt my feelings."

He leaned back, and surveyed his possibilities. He could continue to torment Axel, which was always a good choice, or he could actually try and start a conversation, which he guess would be interesting. Noah never knew what Axel did, nor did he really care. He could go to bed, but there was no fun in that.

"Too busy for my big brother being a pain in the arse," Axel replied, a feint blush creeping in his cheeks. If it was anyone else, Axel would have been too shy to speak, let alone insult someone. But with Noah it was different. Axel was never shy with Noah, just annoyed.

[Noah Malfoy]

"Well, well. Finally growing up to be a Malfoy. Well, as much as I'm ecstatic for you to finally be able to insult someone, I don't think I'll listen to you. As you can see, I'm still quite a bit older, and quite a lot bigger then you," Noah smirked. "So I'll leave you alone when you prove your worthiness."

Noah was sarcastic on the last bit, worthiness had nothing to do with it. But he did mean the first part.

[Axel Malfoy]

"Whatever, see what I care," Axel retorted, turning away from Noah, crossing his arms and facing the fire. Noah had a point, he was bigger and stronger than Axel, what was Axel going to do? Jynx him? It'd be a miriacle in itself if the first year could perform a decent curse, especially on his older opponent.

"Have you talked to Mum?" Noah asked, suddenly changing the subject. He had heard from Jamie that they might have been getting together for Christmas, and Noah was a little worried about having to spend time with people he didn't know. The only cousins he talked to were Jamie and Amandine. Truthfully, the only reason he talked to Ama was because you couldn't talk to Jamie unless Ama was there.

"No, should I have? Is she okay? Did Jamie or Ama say something?" Axel asked quickly. He was a worrier, he worried easily. Though Noah only talked to Jamie, which meant he also talked to Ama, Axel tried to talk to all of his cousins at Hogwarts. Liam, Sheena were in the same house as Jamie and Ama, and therefore were closer, but Sheena was always avaialble to help Axel if he needed it, same with the others. "Why doesn't anyone TELL ME ANYTHING?" Axel groaned, still worrying.

[Noah Malfoy]

"Of course she's ohkay," Noah rolled his eyes, "But you're the only one who owls her in this little conversation. But there's been a few rumours going around the mill about the Ferreras and the Malfoys getting together for Christmas."

"And what do you mean, why doesn't anyone tell you anything? WHo do you talk to?" Noah narrowed his eyes.

[Axel Malfoy]

"Why do you care?" Axel asked. He was relieved that their mother was okay, but now he had a feeling that Noah was going to get all controling again. "That would talk to me about Mum? Just Jamie and Ama and Liam and Sheena," Axel replied. "Just family."

Noah narrowed his eyes, "There's a reason they don't talk to you about Mum, Ex." Noah was very tense. He knew if his father heard that Axel was talking to the Ferreras, unpleasant consequences would inact. Noah wasn't completely dumb, he spent enough time around his father to know that his mother's side of the family was a taboo. "Are you too dumb to notice they are never mentioned at dinner?"

"I'm eleven, not stupid," Axel said. He knew why, and he though it was really childish. "I like my cousins, and you guys cant tell me who I can talk to and who i can't" Axel said defiantly. He sat quietly for a moment before his eyes widened a bit and he looked at Noah. "You won't tell Dad, will you?" Axel asked fearfully.

"Jesus, Axel, back to being touchy," Noah's tense posture hadn't really changed. "And I can tell you whatever I'd like to tell you. Do you think Mum would like it if her husband blamed her for corrupting her son's behaviour? Of course I won't tell Father. There's no reason Mum should get punished."
