Character Name: Adam Lane
Age: 25
Description: Thick, brown hair, fairly tall, athletically built, deep blue eyes. (Jake Gyllenhaal)
Profession: Daily Prophet Assnt. Editor?
Strengths: He is hardworking and creative and keeps very neat and organized. And he's always been good at writing.
Weaknesses: He is known to be a bit of an introvert and is shy and socially inept with most women. However, he can sometimes be blunt and insensitive but usually conducts himself in a very serious manner (sometimes a little too serious). He also gets stressed out easily under pressure and takes his frustration out on others.
Tell a little about your character: Adam grew up in a fairly normal family in Britain with a normal set of hardworking parents and a brother with a completely opposite personality. During his school years, Adam was often laughed at for being so artsy and different, but he never really let it affect him too much. He was never really into sports (despite the fact that he was almost a natural at quidditch) and had always found more interest in writing. Once he reached his final year of school, he knew that he wanted to be a freelance writer for the rest of his life. But when his father got wind of this, he forbade him to do anything of the sort and threatened to no longer consider Adam a part of the family if he embarassed the family name in such a way. His father had never approved of his son being so different and abnormal, but had always figured that it was just a phase in Adam's childhood and that he would grow up to be a respectable businessman. Adam's mother, however, was very supportive of Adam's interests and dreams and constantly encouraged him to only follow his own wishes and not simply try to please his father. But shortly before Adam graduated from school, his father died from an incurable disease and Adam felt incredibly ashamed to have never gained his father's approval. Instead of following his own dreams then, Adam decided that he should honor his deceased father's wishes and apply for a job in the Ministry. However, his mother convinced him that she knew- in the end- his father would've wanted Adam to do what he truly wanted to do rather than simply work in the Ministry out of pity and shame. Adam finally decided on joining the Daily Prophet staff, in memory of how his father loved to read the newspaper.
