He lifted his hands in supplication and surprise, "Hey, woah...I just wanted to see you home safely, there's no cause for that..." he said backing away slightly.

Looking back he realized he might have appeared less charitable than he originally thought.

"I'll go alright? " he let out then turned away extremely frustrated with the whole day.

As he left he was mumbling something about ungrateful chits.

She waited until he was out of sight, and even longer, before she finally put her wand away and headed back to the castle, unaware that he would be in the same castle as well.

She might have been ungrateful, but as he even said, these were dangerous times and you couldn't be too careful.
