"Hmph," said Claire. "I bet you tell that to all the girls that catch you looking at another one." She gave him a wink. Claire to a seat across from him. "Oh, a challenge?" This was going to get interesting. "You know I'm in," she said with a smile. "What is the reward of the winner? We've got to have something good."

"Hmmm, a good point," agreed Edmund. "There should be some sort of reward. Something on the line. I think it should be more of a punishment for the loser, if you know what I mean. The loser should have to do something for the winner." He thought for a minute. He could think of a few things she could do for him, but he wasn't sure he wanted to get them this way.

"Excatly," said Claire. "I'm not sure what I'd want to decide on for your punishment if I won." Claire knew of a few things that could do for her, but she didn't want everything to be so easy. "Hm. I guess we can think about it, then depending on who wins can let the loser know what is to be done then."

Edmund smiled. "All right, then," he said. "That sounds fair enough." He glanced over at the brunette again; she was moving a little closer, as she talked to another guy. "So let's do it then. But you need to pick your guy first. And no switching out if the one you choose doesn't go for it right away." He glanced around. "See anyone worth talking to?"

"The same goes for you," said Claire. She looked around and her eyes laid on a good looking guy. He looked just about as good-looking as Edmund. She smirked. "Found one. The brownish haired guy with the blue shirt," said Claire. She looked back over to Edmund and gave him another smirk, then she ran her leg up part of his. "Let the game begin," she said giving a wink, then standing up. "Let's meet in the morning at Madam Puddifoot's, say between nine-thirty and ten? Then we shall talk about what the loser has to do." Claire blew Edmund a kiss from the tip of her fingers and headed towards the guy in the blue shirt.

"You're on, love," Edmund said with a wink. He paused a moment to size up Mr. Blue Shirt, then frowned. The guy looked very much like Claire's type. He also looked a little dumb. He might be easily manipulated. Pressing his lips together, Edmund shook his head and turned back towards the brunette.
She was still standing with the other guy, but had a look on her face that showed she desperately wanted to get away from him. The guy seemed to be babbling on and on about something, and the woman looked bored and annoyed by it all. Edmund tipped his hat slightly, put on his most charming smile, and strode over to her. "Darling, there you are! I was beginning to think you had stood me up. Come on, I've got a table reserved for us right over here." He bowed slightly and took her arm.

Claire noticed that the guy in the blue shirt was sort of glancing around a bit. He also looked a little dumb, but still quite handsome. Oh this is going to be fun. Claire smiled to herself and casually appeared at his table. "Hi," she said with a smile. "Do you mind if I join you?"

Tristan looked over at her, a smile slowly creeping onto his face. "Well, hello," he said. "No, I don't mind at all. Please. Have a seat." He took a sip from his drink and sized her up. This could be interesting...

"Well, thank you," Claire said taking a seat. As she took her seat, she took his features in. This was going to be quite enjoyable. "I was starting to feel sort of awkward being alone and all the men in here," she said. "Then I saw you sitting here alone, and thought of a small refuge. I hope you don't mind."

"No, not at all," Tristan replied. "A lady as beautiful as you are should absolutely not be alone in a place like this. I can't believe no one noticed you before now. The other guys must be blind."

"Maybe," said Claire. "Or maybe none of them have really struck my interest, until now." She gave him a grin. "Why might I ask, are you, a handsome looking man, alone in a club? I would figure that a man like yourself would have some kind of woman clinging to him."

"Ah, well, normally I would, of course," said Tristan. "But I only just got here a few minutes ago. I've hardly had time to find a lady to spend my evening with. But if you are asking why I came alone, I actually just broke up with someone a few weeks ago." He assumed a wounded look, hoping it would make her sympathetic.

This guy's attitude sort of reminded her of Edmund, and she smiled to herself. "Ah, I see," said Claire. When he mentioned a break-up, she knew that she had to act a bit sympathetic. Claire allowed a frown to cross her face. "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that," she said. She reached her hand across the table and put her hand gently over his.

Tristan assumed a sad face. "Thank you. Yes, Evangeline was a lovely girl, but we had to break up. She just... didn't feel the same way about me that I felt about her." He sighed for a little extra drama. "But it's very nice to meet you. I'm Tristan, by the way. And you are...?"

"Ah, I know how that feels when you like someone and they don't really like you back," she said, attempting to be sympathetic. "Nice to meet you too Tristan. I'm Claire." Claire gave him a smile. "I say we don't worry about the past tonight, and just, have fun. What do you say?"

"That sounds like a great idea, Claire," Tristan said with a smile. He raised his glass to her. "Why don't we drink to that? To giving up the past."

Claire nodded. "To giving up the past," she said with her own glass and a smile. She turned hers up and took a swallow out of it. "So what do you do for a living Mr. Tristan?"

Tristan swallowed his drink, then nodded to her. "Actually, I'm a Healer at St. Mungo's. I'm the head of the non-Magical Emergencies Department. Whenever someone suffers a life-threatening injury that's not caused by magic, they send me in." He gave her a slight wink. "I'm one of the best, actually."

Claire smiled. "Oh really? Well then, I'll know who to come to if I have an accident," she said. "That's good to know. I can officially say that I know one of the best, but very good-looking healers." Claire gave him a wink.

"Well, let's just hope you never need me for that," Tristan replied. "I'd rather you need me for... other... reasons." He winked back at her. "But thank you for saying that. You aren't so hard on the eyes yourself, you know."
